Check out lots of great video gear -

Check out dv tapes here on sale.

Alot of people seem to ask what is the best dv tape to  buy?

Most all of the dv and minidv tapes out there are good, I think the most important thing is to stick with a certain brand media that you are happy with.

The oxide formula on the Sony tapes is different from the Panasonic, so sometimes if you switch from Sony to Panasonic or vice versa, you can get a head clog after a couple of runs. Beware of this

If you get a head clog, it will look like static on the screen.  If you are on the job and don't have a head cleaner, you may want to try using blank media that you are used to putting in the camera and fast forward it in the play mode.  This is regardless of what brand you use.   I do not recommend using a head cleaner if you don't have a problem, as this can wear the camcorder head down too early.

Remember that an 80min  minidv tape will only work about 60 minutes worth of recording when put in a dvcam deck unless it was already recorded in minidv format.  A 60 minute mini dv tape will only record about 40 minutes in DVcam mode.

We think Panasonic is the best value for a terrific tape and they have the 80min videos available at a great price.

The complete stock footage collection  Elite Video offers comes on Panasonic minidv tapes or on  fire wire hard drives.
